BACKGROUND

Susie Law is a former System/Regional VP of Operations and Chief Nursing Informatics Officer.  Her healthcare experience spans executive leadership roles at the hospital, regional and corporate levels. 

INDUSTRY EXPERIENCE

With over 36 years of executive healthcare leadership experience, Susie possesses an extensive knowledge of clinical and hospital operations, physician relationships, quality, informatics, leadership/organizational development and process improvement.  Susie has dedicated more than 15 years to system level operational and quality excellence in physician/nurse partner led services for ER, Trauma, EMS, Peri-Operative Services, Perfusion, System Transfer Center and Patient Throughput/Bed Management and Clinical Informatics.  Susie is a relationship-based, dynamic healthcare executive focused on improving patient care through evidence-based practice and process improvement.

ENGAGEMENT EXPERIENCE

  • Set strategic/operational direction, executive and clinical leadership, region and system wide planning, organizational and resource management for all aspects of clinical operations for 12 acute care facilities in 4 states.

  • Responsible for monthly oversight of clinical quality and performance indicators for ER, OR, Trauma Services, Transfer Center, Perfusion, Anesthesia and clinical informatics operations including annual evaluation of services provided.

  • Responsible executive for Midwest Perfusion Services providing perfusion services across 7 facilities in the Kansas City market.

  • Planned and implemented Electronic Health Record documentation for physicians/providers in 15 ERs and 13 ORs. Responsible executive for implementation and oversight of Evidence Based Clinical Documentation for Nursing in 12 hospitals across 4 states.

  • Developed and facilitated regional Clinical Informatics Council to standardize documentation practices and change control processes, to include oversight of 12 Directors of Clinical Informatics and 2 CPN System Managers.

  • Responsible for physician contract negotiations and compliance for Anesthesia, Perfusion and ER in 12 facilities in 4 states.

  • Designed and implemented a centralized  patient Transfer Center facilitating all in and out migration for 12 facilities in 4 states, increasing immigration by 5%.

  • Served as a designated mentor for CNOs, COOs, and Directors.
